Avalanches hopefully mark the end of the snow season in Wengen

After a week of heavy spring snow the sun is back out and the avalanches down the side of the Männlichen have started.  My dog does not like them!

Easter at St Bernard's English Church in Wengen

Easter week was celebrated with cloudy skies and services by visiting chaplain, Liz Lever.  A candlelight Good Friday evening service was particularly poignant with readings from Women of Holy Week: An Easter Journey in Nine Stories by Paula Gooder.  The story of Mary, wife of Clopas, reflected on how women were there with Jesus at his death and burial.

The church will be closed until mid-June 2024 when new visiting chaplains will resume their service to the wider community.
