Marco Odermatt of Switzerland stormed to a fantastic win at the Lauberhorn Race on Saturday 13 January 2024 finishing 59 hundredths of a second ahead of France's Cyprien Sarrazin.  Dominik Paris of Italy finished in 3rd place.  The conditions were perfect.  25,000 fans crowded the slopes to cheer on the local hero.  Sadly Norwegian skier Aleksander Aamodt Kilde who was projected to be on the podium had a terrible crash near the finish and was airlifted to hospital in Bern.  Nothing broken but a dislocated shoulder means he is out for the season.
